LFS Alumni Success at 36th London Critics' Circle Film Awards

MAD MAX: FURY ROAD has been named Film of the Year at last night's 36th London Critics' Circle Film Awards. The film, produced by LFS alumnus Iain Smith, also picked up awards for editing, production design, costume design, hair and makeup, visual effects, best action movie, best actor in an action movie for Tom Hardy, and best actress in an action movie for Charlize Theron.

The nine awards last night have added to a growing list of international awards and nominations for MAD MAX: FURY ROAD, which has notably been nominated for ten Academy Awards, including Best Picture and Best Director.

We are also delighted to announce further success for Oscar nominated short film STUTTERER, written and directed by LFS aulumus Benjamin Cleary, which won the first British Short Film of the Year Award last night.   STUTTERER tells the story of a typographer with a speech impediment finds comfort and connection in an online relationship. Now, however, he is faced with the prospect of meeting his online paramour in the flesh, and revealing the truth about himself.  The film stars Matthew Needham (Casualty), Chloe Pirrie (Shell), and Eric Richard (The Bill). Stutterer is produced by Serena Armitage and Shan Christopher for Bare Golly Films.
