LFS CONNECTS | Straight 8 at LFS

Date:
Wednesday, 25 September 2019 - 6:00pm to 8:00pm
The one-super-8-cartridge-no-editing short film competition: straight 8. Panel: Ed Sayers (Founder), his colleagues, + Theo Krekis (MAS 10).

About this Event

straight 8: The global one-super-8-cartridge-with-no-editing short film competition.

The challenge? Shoot a short film on one cartridge of super 8mm cine film with no editing, no re-takes, no grade, no post-production. Visuals are completed in-camera, shooting in story order, and editing only with each pull of the camera’s trigger - every shot taken becomes the film, while a separate soundtrack is submitted. The first time you see the finished product will be alongside one of straight 8’s packed premiere audiences, such as the Cannes Film Festival. Speaking of which...

At this LFS CONNECTS // INDUSTRY event, from 6-9pm on 25 September in Cinema A, not only will 2018's 'Cannes 8' shortlist be screened, but our panel will discuss the method of this enticing challenge with a focus on what judges will be looking for.

Ed Sayers, Founder of straight 8, will be joined by colleagues and Theo Krekis, LFS alumnus (MAS 10), whose film MEMOIRS OF A GEEZA features in the evening's screening and was recently selected for this year's London Film Festival.
