Eligible students starting the MA Filmmaking or MA Screenwriting programme at LFS from August 2020 onwards will be able to apply for a postgraduate masters loan.
Eligibility for both UK and EU students has been confirmed for students starting their course in 2020/21.
It will be at the student’s discretion to use the loan towards fees, maintenance costs or other costs. The loans are non-means tested and paid directly to the student.
The maximum loan amount available for 2020/21 is £10,609 which will be divided equally into three payments across each year of the course.
Whether or not a student qualifies depends on:
- The course
- The student’s age
- The student’s nationality or residency status
Loans are only available for full, standalone master’s courses and students must be under 60 on the first day of the academic year of the course.
Students must be either UK or EU nationals or have ‘settled status’ in the UK. They must also live in England (and not just move there to study) and been living in the UK the Channel Islands or the Isle of Man for 3 years before starting their course.
EU nationals may also be eligible if they have lived in the European Economic Area or Switzerland for the past 3 years and will be studying at a university or college in England.
EEA students may also be eligible if they meet the requirements.
