The school is in the process of moving its teaching and studio spaces. Pending the completion of building work the entry to the programme is postponed and will not be commencing in 2024. More information will be available as we have it.


We welcome applications from a wide variety of candidates who can demonstrate their passion for film and meet our minimum academic or professional entry requirements. 

Applicants should have at least one of the following; An Undergraduate / Bachelor’s Degree with Honours; or equivalent (International) or Higher Qualification; or equivalent professional qualification; or substantial professional experience in film or a related area. In addition, all applicants must submit a completed online application form, CV/Resume, education certificates (degree-level qualifications only), two references, a passport sized photo, a short film in which you were in a key role or extracts of your film work, up to 10 minutes in length. You may supplement these requirements with a small portfolio of photography or illustrated storytelling if you feel of relevance to your Personal Statement, or your idea for a documentary film.

You will get an email acknowledging your application. Applications are then processed by our Admissions team and reviewed by Admissions and Academic staff for consideration for the next stage of the process. Successful applicants are invited for an interview. The interview would then determine any final offer of study. You will then be notified by email via our Admissions team on the final outcome of your application and interview. You can read about the application and review deadlines here.


Please note there is a non-refundable application fee of £50 upon submission of an application. LFS does not provide student accommodation. Students are encouraged to find external or private Student Accommodation options for their studies. LFS has an online community of students searching for flatmates through our invitation-only Facebook Group once you have accepted an offer. However, we can also help you with alternative accommodation search options.
