You will be asked to submit:
- your CV
- a personal statement explaining why you're applying for the Summer School, what you hope to gain from it etc. Min. 250 words
- proof of your date of birth (e.g. passport scan, uploaded photo of an ID card, etc.)
- if you've already directed a short piece, we encourage you to submit this as part of your application.
Submitting a film is optional. If you don't have a film to upload, this should not discourage you from applying for the course. It's merely an option for those who have some previous work to hand. Films should be max. 10 mins, or the first 10 minutes of a longer piece. Please do not submit clips from several pieces which have been edited together.
PLEASE NOTE: You will NOT be able to save your application part way through and come back to it later. We therefore advise applicants to prepare all materials in advance, ready to upload / copy and paste into the form at a later stage.
How the application process works:
Those who complete and submit an application by Sunday 10th March 2019 will receive priority for a place.
We will continue to accept applications after the initial application deadline. Offers to subsequent candidates will be made subject to availability.
In the event that more than twelve suitable applications are received, the equivalent number of offers will be made.
In certain cases, Udayan Prasad may request a Skype/telephone conversation with an applicant before offering a place. This will be arranged via email in advance.
Those wishing to accept their offer must secure their place by submitting a non-refundable 20% deposit.
There is no deadline for submitting deposit payments. The first twelve applicants to submit a deposit will secure a place on the Summer School. They will then each be given a deadline by which to pay the remainder of the fee.
Once twelve participants have been confirmed, a standby list will be in operation for all subsequent applicants.
