Have you always loved horror cinema? Looking for a scary (but fun) challenge this Halloween? Book for our Horror Film Weekend and spend a chilling weekend making a horror short at our iconic studio in the heart of London’s West End.

At London Film School, we pride ourselves on teaching and inspiring the next generation of international filmmakers. We also want to inspire and teach complete beginners and film fans. This unique weekend workshop is designed for true horror film fans. Throughout the weekend you will work with tutor and filmmaker Paul Cotrulia to plan, shoot and edit a horror film. All props, costumes and equipment provided.

You’ll learn how to storyboard, prep, shoot and edit a horror film in Paul’s knowledgeable hands and you’ll be able to see the completed film in our basement screening room. In addition, you’ll hopefully leave with a bunch of insights into what goes into making films in a genre you love, you’ll have lots of practical tips that might help you in any film/content/writing or creative future endeavour, you will have a lot of fun and, you will have a film you’ll be able to share and show family and friends.

"I have done two one-day filmmaking workshops with Paul Cotrulia (Beginners and Intermediate).

As a novice filmmaker, I loved how Paul put us at ease during the introductions, and did his utmost to find out what we wanted to do as creatives, and then sign post, based on his own in-depth experience as a filmmaker.

Somehow, writers, film students and complete beginners on the course were able to get something out of the session!

The workshop was a good mix of theory and practical, touching on: framing shots, continuation of action, lighting and use of cameras/sound.

Best of all, Paul worked beyond the course to edit out work to provide us with a finished product."
