Job Title: Finance Assistant
Contract: Permanent, full time (35 hours per week)
Salary/Benefits: £30-32,000 per annum

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Finance team at Britain’s longest established and world-famous conservatoire for filmmakers. The school, now in its 70th anniversary year, is based in Covent Garden in the heart of London. LFS alumni include famous veterans (Mike Leigh, Michael Mann, Tak Fujimoto, Ann Hui) and famous younger filmmakers including Carla Simon, Oliver Hermanus, Babak Jalali, and the creator of End of the F**king World, Jonathan Entwistle.
LFS is one of only two film schools in the UK to have been awarded ‘world leading’ specialist provider institution status and funding from the Office for Students.
Job Summary
We are looking for someone who is organised, accurate and enjoys working with numbers. You will be comfortable managing a varied workload, providing excellent customer service and building positive working relationships with colleagues, students and external suppliers.
Whether you are already working in a finance role or looking to build on existing finance experience, you will be keen to develop your skills and contribute to a busy and supportive team.
What You’ll Do :
Accounts Payable
- Process invoices, expenses and payments accurately and on time.
- Manage purchase orders, supplier accounts and procurement administration.
- Respond to supplier and internal finance queries and support purchasing activities.
Student Fees & Income
- Maintain student accounts and process student payments.
- Support fee collection, income allocation and account reconciliation.
- Liaise with internal stakeholders to ensure accurate student payment records.
Finance Administration
- Support reconciliations, month-end activities and financial reporting.
- Investigate and resolve financial queries and discrepancies.
- Maintain accurate records and contribute to continuous process improvements.
- Provide general administrative support to the Finance Team

Job Summary
This is a unique opportunity to join a film school with a rich history and an unwavering commitment to practical filmmaking. You’ll play a pivotal role in guiding aspiring sound recordists within the Filmmaking MA. The primary responsibilities of the Lecturer are to help plan, prepare and deliver teaching in sound production and recording for film productions, to deliver teaching and practical workshops and feedback on production sound elements within practical filmmaking exercises. You would be inspiring and supporting the next generation of sound acquisition for film professionals at one of the top film schools in the UK.
What You’ll Do
- Plan, prepare and teach sound production sessions in line within the course and module specifications, using a range of delivery and methods.
- Undertake formative assessment of student progress and performance and participate in summative assessment of students’ sound work.
- Involvement in student induction teaching and technical /equipment training. Attend cut screenings, crits, shoot support sessions to feedback and support student work in sound recording.
- Stay up to date with current developments in sound recording and production within the film industry.
Who we’re looking for:
We welcome applications from individuals with:
- Extensive industry experience as a Production Sound Mixer / First Assistant Sound in film/high-end TV drama and Documentary, with a significant experience of teaching sound recording for film (drama and documentary) at BA or MA level.
- An understanding of Storytelling using sound within film and a keen interest in working in the generalist film education model at BA or MA level.
- A strong commitment to student development and mentoring around creative development of sound practice and storytelling both creatively and technically.

Job Summary
We are seeking passionate, experienced and industry-active visiting lecturers to contribute to the delivery of our MA programmes. This is an open call for practitioners across all areas of filmmaking to bring current industry knowledge, professional insight, and high-level craft expertise to our postgraduate learning environment.
Teaching is focused on practice-based, industry-relevant training, supporting a global cohort of students to develop their creative voice and professional standards within an intensive, collaborative context. This is an open call to join our Visiting Lecturer pool. Successful applicants may not be engaged immediately; opportunities will be offered as teaching needs arise across the programmes.
Areas of Expertise
We welcome applications from practitioners working at an advanced professional level in areas including (but not limited to):
- Directing (fiction / documentary)
- Producing and production management

Key Responsibilities
- Deliver specialist workshops, lectures, and/or practical sessions at MA level
- Provide high-level technical and creative guidance in your area of expertise
- Support students’ project development through tutorials, critiques, and feedback
- Contribute to a professional, inclusive, and collaborative learning environment
- Engage with current industry practices and integrate them into teaching
- Participate in assessment where required (briefing and/or marking)
Essential Criteria
- Significant professional experience in the film and/or screen industries
- A strong portfolio of work demonstrating high-level industry practice
- Up-to-date knowledge of contemporary filmmaking processes, workflows, and standards
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Desirable
- Previous teaching or mentoring experience in Higher Education or professional training contexts
- Experience working internationally or across diverse production environments
- A commitment to inclusive teaching practices
