The building is 300 yards from Holborn tube station and sits atop The Garden Cinema, London’s exciting new three-screen arthouse cinema, providing students with a unique link to the city’s thriving film culture.

Just a five-minute walk away is our Shelton Street building – home to LFS for 60 years. Studios and facilities there were built in part by former students, including filmmaker Mike Leigh. Shelton Street houses the School’s recently refurbished cinemas, shooting stages, rehearsal spaces, teaching rooms, and Outreach facilities, all just 50 yards from Covent Garden tube station.
London Film School offers a compact yet highly professional studio environment, with four fully equipped sound stages across its Covent Garden sites, giving students hands-on experience in purpose-built filming spaces at the heart of London’s creative district.
At its Parker Street facilities, two recently upgraded studios with lighting rigs are used for core film exercises, alongside drama and script workshops, forming a flexible production hub for practical teaching.
The Camera Department at London Film School equips students with hands-on experience across both film and digital formats, using industry-standard cameras and professional equipment.
From early exercises on 16mm through to more advanced studio and location shoots, students develop strong technical skills alongside a confident visual approach, preparing them to operate effectively within professional camera teams and production environments.
London Film School is home to two recently renovated cinemas, offering students dedicated spaces to screen and experience their work in a professional setting.
Located in the Shelton Street building, the cinemas seat 100 and 40 people respectively, and are equipped with projection facilities for both digital and 35mm formats—supporting everything from student screenings to special events and industry presentations.
The Production Design facilities at London Film School offer a comprehensive, hands-on environment for developing and realising cinematic worlds.
At Parker Street, a light-filled design studio with rooftop views across central London is equipped with drawing boards, a meeting area, viewing screen, and a full range of technical drawing and model-making tools, alongside sample materials and a visual reference library. Across both Parker Street and Shelton Street, film stages are stocked with scenic flats, windows, doors, backcloths, and construction tools, while additional resources include a dedicated construction room and a prop store housing small props and practical lighting.
The Edit Suites at London Film School provide a professional-grade post-production environment where students develop advanced editing skills using industry-standard tools.
With hands-on training in Avid Media Composer, alongside dedicated teaching spaces equipped with the latest technology, students learn to shape and refine their work to a professional standard. The School’s specialised suites offer an immersive setting to experiment with technique, develop a strong editorial voice, and gain the confidence needed to succeed in contemporary filmmaking.
The Sound Suites at London Film School offer a fully integrated environment for professional audio post-production, from recording through to final mix.
Facilities include a hybrid Dante 5.1 mixing and recording studio with live room for Foley, ADR and voice recording, alongside surround mixing for film. Additional spaces include a dedicated Dante control room, a stereo sound editing suite with voice recording capabilities, and a 5.1 mixing and QC room. Equipped with Pro Tools Ultimate and S1/Dock systems throughout, the suites provide students with the tools and workflows used across the film industry.
The seminar rooms at London Film School provide flexible, technology-enabled spaces for teaching, collaboration, and review.
Located across the second and third floors of Parker Street, ten seminar rooms are equipped with large 4K screens, Mac Mini systems, and stereo sound, with easy connectivity for external devices via HDMI and USB-C. A larger screening classroom features a 4K laser projector and drop-down screen for group viewings, while all rooms include integrated Microsoft Teams facilities to support online teaching, meetings, and feedback sessions.
Student spaces at London Film School are designed to support both collaboration and day-to-day life within a creative community.
At Parker Street, the Student Hub on the second floor offers shared working areas and a kitchen, with an additional kitchen located on the third floor. At Shelton Street, a breakout space outside Cinema A provides further areas to work and connect, alongside kitchen facilities—creating informal environments for collaboration, rest, and social exchange.
The Library at London Film School serves as both an archive and a resource hub, supporting students’ creative and research needs.
Alongside documenting the School’s own productions—many of which screen at over 200 international film festivals each year and are sold to broadcasters and distributors—the library offers a curated collection of films for loan and a core selection of books. Students also benefit from access to the nearby BFI Reuben Library, located just a short walk away, expanding the range of research materials available.
