MA Film Producing

Master the business, build global collaborations, and graduate ready to run real productions in a one year programme.

Validating partner University of Warwick
Start date September 2026
Course length 1 year

The one-year MA Film Producing (MAP) equips you with all the core skills to succeed as a professional producer in today’s global screen industry. Across five focused modules, you’ll develop expertise in script development, project management, budgeting, delivery, and the fundraising and business side of filmmaking.

You’ll be part of the LFS creative community, collaborating with directors, writers, and cinematographers from over 50 countries, all based in Covent Garden with access to professional studio facilities, shooting stages, and full post-production suites.

On MAP, you’ll build the key technical and organisational skills producers rely on while working across up to 180 student films – the highest output of any European film school. While you won’t direct or shoot films yourself, you’ll play a central role in bringing them to life; and build the director and writer relationships for your future career.

By graduation, you’ll be ready to step into the industry as a producer, line producer, or production manager, with the skills to manage budgets, schedules, financing, and contracts – and to develop projects that balance creative ambition with real-world demands.
