Candida Moriarty
BA Hons, PGCE, MAHead of Department, Production Design
Candida holds a BA (Hons) in Three-Dimensional Design, specialising in theatre set and costume design, and has built a wide-ranging career across film, television, theatre, opera, ballet, and live events in the UK and internationally, working as a designer, art director, supervisor, maker, and scenic artist. Her early theatre work, including Extraordinary People in London’s West End, received critical acclaim, and she went on to contribute to numerous acclaimed productions, including BAFTA- and Oscar-recognised projects such as Who Framed Roger Rabbit, The Lonely Passion of Judith Hearne, and The Borrowers, with over 150 credits spanning film, TV, and stage. Alongside her industry work, Candida has maintained a strong commitment to education, mentoring students and teaching at institutions including Nottingham Trent University and Central Saint Martins, previously serving as a Head of Design and course leader at UAL for a programme she devised, before joining the London Film School, where she supports a collaborative, practice-based approach to production design and storytelling.
