This week, our MA Film Marketing students had the exciting opportunity to attend the BASE (British Association for Screen Entertainment) and DEGI (Digital Entertainment Group International) Roadshow at the iconic Odeon West End. It’s one of the many advantages of studying at London Film School, being based in the heart of central London means our students are never far from where all the important industry action takes place.
The event brought together over 180 professionals from across the film distribution landscape, creating a dynamic space for discussions on innovation, collaboration, and the future of the screen industries. Throughout the day, students heard directly from leading voices at organisations including Sony Pictures, NBCUniversal, Warner Bros., Google, Tubi and Deloitte, gaining valuable insights and making meaningful connections during dedicated networking sessions.
What emerged from these conversations was a clear picture of an industry in transformation. As film, television, and streaming continue to evolve, so too does the way audiences discover and engage with content. In an increasingly fragmented media landscape, understanding audience behaviour has never been more important, or more complex.
A key theme running throughout the day was the growing need for creative and authentic storytelling. Today’s audiences are seeking meaningful, engaging experiences, and marketers play a pivotal role in shaping how these stories reach and resonate with viewers. At the same time, the importance of keeping audiences at the centre of innovation was emphasised again and again. As technology advances, ensuring access to premium content while delivering exceptional consumer experiences remains fundamental to the success of the industry.
Experiences like this are at the core of the MA Film Marketing at London Film School, connecting students directly with industry professionals, real-world insights, and the latest thinking shaping the future of screen entertainment.
With the final places now available for September 2026, there’s still time to join a course designed to prepare you for a fast-moving, exciting career in film marketing. If you’re ready to develop your skills, expand your network, and be part of the conversations shaping the future of the industry, we encourage you to apply now.
A big thank you to BASE, DEGI, and all the speakers and organisers for such an insightful and inspiring event, we look forward to many more opportunities like this for our students.
