As part of its 70th anniversary celebrations, London Film School is proud to partner with LAMDA and RD Studios to launch the 2Day Film Challenge – an international 48-hour filmmaking competition designed to discover and champion the next generation of filmmaking talent.
Open to aspiring filmmakers around the world, the challenge invites participants to write, shoot and edit a 3–5 minute short film in just 48 hours. The competition brief will be released online on Friday 3 July, with shortlisted films later screened at a live gala event at LAMDA on Saturday 19 September.
The initiative reflects London Film School’s long-standing commitment to supporting bold new voices in cinema and creating opportunities for emerging creatives from all backgrounds. As one of the world’s leading film schools celebrates 70 years of filmmaking excellence, the competition offers a platform for filmmakers to showcase their creativity, collaborate internationally and connect with industry professionals.
Finalists will have the chance to see their work screened on the big screen in front of an audience of filmmakers, judges and industry guests. Awards include cash prizes, £20,000 worth of production support and equipment hire, as well as fast-tracked MA application pathways to London Film School.
The judging panel will feature acclaimed filmmaker and legendary LFS alumnus Mike Leigh alongside other leading names from the film and television industry.
London Film School is thrilled to be part of the 2Day Film Challenge and to reach out to the next generation of fresh talent. This competition promises to be an exciting showcase for emerging filmmakers, offering audiences the chance to experience fresh new stories and bold perspectives.Chris Auty, Director of London Film School
