REFLECTIONS ON THE COURSE:
"I have been working in the creative industry for more than fifteen years, in advertising, and my creative skills are challenged on a daily basis. But the LFS Summer School, and Udayan, was a game changer for me.
I’d like to use a video game analogy to explain. When you are playing a game, sometimes you can get stuck in a phase and not progress to a different level unless you find a new weapon. Udayan’s classes gave me this weapon and made me a better creative who can see things from a different perspective.
His classes are really intense, and the progress happens fast. But it is just after a few months that you realise how much you have changed, how much better you have become and how differently you see the world."
WHAT HAPPENED NEXT:
"After the summer school I returned to my job as an advertising creative director, and started to write more. I started to see stories from a different perspective and this has helped me to evolve as a creative professional.
I had been writing three short scripts since the course finished, but I struggled to finish any of them as I didn't feel the connection between myself and the stories I was writing. So I came back to the basics, to the notes I took from Udayan’s classes and it changed everything. I found the story I really wanted to tell, I've finished the script and I'm starting to get a small production together to make it.
I have kept in touch with most of my fellow participants. We had an amazing group of people from all over the world, with completely different personalities and objectives in life. And that is one of the key points of the summer school; this helps you to develop different visions, realise different realities and sometimes see things that were in front of you but you have ignored all your life.
At the moment, myself and two other participants are developing a short film together."
