Kyla Simone Bruce


Kyla is half German, half Scottish but grew up in the Suffolk country side. After graduating from The Glasgow School of Art as a conceptual video artist, she set up her own business GAMEOVER FILMS in 2008. During this time she produced/directed/shot and edited music videos, documentaries and online content for companies such as The National Wildlife Trust, Armani and Beautiful Crime. In 2010 she embarked on a Filmmaking Masters at The London Film School to further her skills in narrative story-telling. She graduated as a writer/director with her film The Interpreter. Her main concern is developing strong, honest characters who lead captivating journeys, framed within a realistic, yet poetic style.

The Interpreter

Ramzi is an interpreter working in a London immigration court. When he unwittingly gets involved with a client, he realises his job comes with a heavy responsibility. Faced with a moral dilemma, he must make a decision that might cost him his livelihood.
