Decisions and Offers
Following the selection process, the Admissions Manager will make a final decision with regard to the outcome of the application based on the score against the published selection criteria. This will either be:
-
Unconditional Offer
-
Conditional Offer
- Invitation to join the waiting list - Reserve
-
Rejection
Unconditional Offer
Unconditional offers are normally made to applicants who have satisfied all entry criteria and have demonstrated that they have the potential to succeed in their studies at London Film School.
Conditional Offer
Conditional Offers are normally made to applicants who have satisfied most of the entry criteria and have demonstrated that they have the potential to succeed in their studies at LFS. Conditional offers may also be made to applicants who have satisfied all entry criteria but have not fully demonstrated that they have the potential to succeed in their studies at LFS.
Conditions must normally be met prior to course start.
Invitation to join the Waiting List - Reserve
As places are competitive some applicants may satisfy the entry criteria and score well against these entry criteria, but other candidates may score more highly and therefore be offered a guaranteed place. In some cases, candidates who just miss being offered a guaranteed place will be invited to join the waiting list. Sometimes, candidates who have been offered a place of study, can no longer accept, or may choose to decline their offer, and under such circumstances, we may choose to make a guaranteed offer to a suitable candidate on the waiting list, for the original intake applied for.
Rejection
LFS receives many more high quality applications for its courses than there are places available. Applicants who demonstrated during the application and selection process that they were less able to satisfy the criteria compared to other applicants will be rejected. The large volume of applications means that feedback to unsuccessful applicants cannot be provided at the point when a decision is made. Feedback on request will normally include generic information to help applicants understand why their application was unsuccessful.
Accepting Offers
We ask all applicants to accept their offer within ten working days of the offer being sent. Details will be included in the offer letter sent by the Admissions Manager.
