Ben Gibson, LFS Director, received the award 'Chevalier de l'Ordre des Arts et des Lettres' from the French ambassador . The Chevalier, which is awarded in recognition of significant contributions to the arts and literature, is one of the most distinguished titles in France.

John Walsh nominated for a BAFTA Children's Award for documentary 'My Life: Karate Kids'

John Walsh (1990 graduate) has been nominated for a BAFTA Children's Awards for Best Factual Film for his BBC documentary film about disabled children learning martial arts, called My Life: Karate Kids. The ceremony is on the 28th Nov.

Rahul Gandotra and Mike Leigh nominated for British Independent Film Awards

Rahul Gandotra's 2009 graduation film THE ROAD HOME has been nominated for a British Independent Film Award for Best Short. LFS alumnus and chairman Mike Leigh receives four nominations for his latest feature ANOTHER YEAR (Best Director, Best Actor, Best Actress and Best Supporting Actress).

Hothouse filmmaker Dima Hamdan has won the Abu Dhabi Film Commission's Shasha Grant for 'Kidnapped'

Dima Hamdan, one of nine LFS Hothouse participants, has won the Abu Dhabi Film Commission's Shasha Grant, for her project Kidnapped. The Shasha Grant is designed to showcase rising talent in film and television across the Middle East.
