An Introduction to our Filmmaking Masters
The MA Filmmaking course is designed to help students build advanced creative, technical and professional skills for careers in the global screen industries. Through a strong focus on practical, hands-on learning, students create original work that shows critical insight, clear aesthetic decision-making and industry-level ability.
Across five carefully structured modules, students explore filmmaking within historical, cultural and industry contexts while gaining confidence with professional workflows in both narrative and documentary production. The programme places particular importance on collaboration, leadership and reflective practice, preparing graduates for sustainable careers through industry engagement, portfolio development and thoughtful career planning.
The course immerses aspiring filmmakers in a hothouse of creative filmmaking. Across the two sites in Covent Garden, the facilities boast film studios, cinemas, design studios and workshops, extensive kit rooms and post-production sound and editing facilities, as well as new library and study facilities.
