Avo To Screen At Two More Festivals

Congratulations to The London Film School grad Golnaz Jamsheed, whose graduation film AVO has been accepted into two more film festivals, and will screen there this Summer.

AVO tells the story of an Iranian Armenian boy who experiences the concept of death through his grandfather's passing. Being neglected by the grown ups at the funeral, he finds a way to stay in touch with his grandfather from beyond the grave.

Avo will screen at the Female Eye Film Festival as part of the mid-length shorts collection at The Theatre Centre on June 18th at 5:30PM-7:30PM.

Avo will also be screening at the East End Film Festival as part of the "Shorts: In Passing" selection ("Whether it’s grieving the passing of a loved one, mourning the loss of a bygone era, or even the disappointment of getting old, these films tackle the subject with humour, perspective and a strong dose of unsentimental grit").  The screening itself will be at Genesis on June 30th at 6:30 PM.

Golnaz is 2016 Joanna Plafsky DLMA Film Scholar at the Maharishi University of Management. David Lynch picked the winner of the David Lynch Masters in film 2016 Short Film competition. Golnaz has won a full-tuition scholarship to the programme which runs until June 2017. She will join the new group of Masters students participating in the David Lynch Masters in Film TV/Web Series Programme being offered at Maharishi University of Management in Fairfiled, Iowa.

AVO, which was originally named BEGINNING OF AN END, stars Mohammad Nourmohamadi, Marita Andriassian, Anooshavan Zarian, Hooshang Salek, Maggie Khodalakis, Sati Shahbazi, Rima Ohanian, Vahagn Hakopian.
