OSMONDE, an MA Filmmaking graduation project, directed by Elsa Bauverd and co-written with MA Screenwriting graduate Tessa Nicholson, has been selected to screen at the upcoming Austin Film Festival in the Shorts 'Mothers, Fathers, Sons and Daughters' Programme this October.
The film is about the dramatic impact of assisted suicide on a family. Antoine discovers why the woman who raised him, his illiterate grandmother Momo, suddenly shows an interest in learning how to write. She needs a hand-written letter of intent to apply to the assisted suicide organisation in Switzerland. Their relationship is tested when Antoine has to choose between trying to make her change her mind or help her with a letter that she might otherwise try to write by herself.
It was shot in Switzerland on the shores of Lake Geneva in October 2013. Cinematographer is LFS graduate Daniel Zafer and editor MA Filmmaking student Nicolas Gaud.
