Five LFS films screen at Xining International Film Fest. Brian O'Toole's SUNDAY MORNING wins top prize.

The Xining First International Film Festival recently screened a showcase of London Film School films. MA Filmmaking graduation film SUNDAY MORNING, directed by Brian O'Toole, won the Best Student Short Film Award.


Other films screened in competition were BEATITUDES (Dir Aristotelis Maragkos), nominated for Best Student Short Film and Best Student Director;  THE LIBRARY OF BURNED BOOKS (Dir Alisdair Beckitt-King), nominated for Best Student animation; THE SWIMMER (Dir: Giovanni Basso) nominated for Best Young Filmmaker Film. Screening out of competition was CODA (Dir Jonathan Tomlin)

The 7th First International Film Festival took place in Xining, Qinghai province from July 21 - 31. The festival, aimed at finding young talents in the industry, consisted of screenings, a talent development workshop, forums, a film market and an awards ceremony. The jury, who presented 17 awards, included writer Lu Wei and director Frankie Chan.
