Homecoming for Puerto Rican LFS filmmaker’s LA BOCA DEL MIEDO

After a successful Indiegogo campaign, ardent horror fan and LFS filmmaker Gabriel Serrano Denis had the chance to add to the genre with his short film, LA BOCA DEL MIEDO (The Mouth of Fear).

The film was shot in Denis’ home country of Puerto Rico, giving him the chance to collaborate with local artists such as illustrator Rs Gráfiko, who designed the poster art for the film, while Deni's own faster aided in the sotry storyboard process.

LA BOCA DEL MIEDO is a coming-of-age story of a young teenager, Evi, who decides to kill his mother with the help of his friend.  While disposing of the body, the young boys arrive at  a wooded area with a violent history where Evi must face consequences beyond his imaginations.

It was screened at the 10th Puerto Rico Horror Film Festival (PRHFF) in a short film bundle entitled “Will Love You To Death” on Friday 21st October, six days after its world premiere on Saturday 15th October at the Atlanta Horror Film Festival in the Disturbia Shorts category. The PRHFF, now in its tenth year, is the first and only international film festival in the caribbean devoted to Science Fiction, Thriller, Fantasy, Dark Humour and Horror.

"Horror is a home for films that want to critique and challenge our perceptions on violence, gender, religious belief, and social injustice,” said Denis on the genre.  "In its own imaginative and twisted way, horror can serve as a tool for examining our society and posing questions that will never have easy answers."
