Alumni films from The London Film School have been accepted into the Raindance Film Festival this year:
· LFS alumnus Adam Dewar is the screenwriter and co-creator of the 28-part Instagram crime thriller SHIELD FIVE, which is in competition at this year's Raindance Webfest at the Raindance Film Festival. SHIELD FIVE is up for 4 awards at Raindance: Best UK series, Best Writer, Best Director and Best Actor. Dewar also wrote the award-winning short films North Atlantic and Hardwire, and is currently developing several feature length film and television projects, including the Detroit set college football thriller The Safety and British political drama The Long Grass (CryBaby - Norfolk).

· LONG FORGOTTEN FIELDS, a Feature produced, written, and directed by LFS alumnus Jon Stanford is having its world premiere and is in competition for Best UK Feature. Other LFS alumni working on the film include Jon Stanford (Writer/Director/Producer), Ben Caird (Producer), Benjamin Thomas (Cinematographer), Jeroen Bogaert (Sound recordist), and Assad Khan (Gaffer). In LONG FORGOTTEN FIELDS Lily's routine existence of work, family and friends is called into question when her soldier boyfriend Sam, comes home on leave. Any expectations she has of rekindling their relationship are overturned as she is drawn deeper into his post-war world. When Sam needs a place to retreat Lily is happy to offer up her childhood hangout, but in trying to make the old bird hide an idyll she unintentionally cuts herself off from all and everything that she knows. Ultimately, she is forced to embark on a journey that will either destroy or affirm their relationship; a journey which shows that only the strength and resilience of Lily's love can combat the trauma which Sam brings back from war.

Raindance Film Festival showcases features, shorts and music videos by filmmakers from the UK and around the world celebrating and supporting independent, new and alternative filmmakers. The 24th Raindance Film Festival will take place from the 21st September – 2nd October 2016 in Central London (Piccadilly Circus), screening 100 feature films and over 150 short films. Raindance Film Festival is officially recognised by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences USA, the British Academy of Film and Television Arts and the British Independent Film Awards. Selected shorts will qualify for Oscar® and BAFTA nominations. British short films that play in competition and all British features that play in 2016 will be eligible for entry for the 2016 British Independent Film Awards BIFA.
