LFS Alumnus Wins Best Short Film at the London Feminist Film Festival

Congratulations to Fateme Ahmadi, whose short film ONE THOUSAND AND ONE TEARDROPS, has won Best Short Film Award at the London Feminist Film Festival

ONE THOUSAND AND ONE TEARDROPS is a short, animated docu-drama about women's dress codes in Iran, made at The London Film School as Ahmadi's graduation film. A history of fashion and clothing codes in Iran, narrated by a magical teardrop keeper for a little girl who is faced with the dilemma of whether to reject or embrace the ugly uniform on her first day of school.

Open City Docs described the film as “mixing archive material and animation in a style reminiscent of Terry Gilliam's animations for Monty Python, mixed with Persian patterns and elegance, this is a feast for the eyes.”

Written and directed by Fateme Ahmadi and co-produced by Mi Young Yun, both recent LFS graduates, the film stars Shappi Khorsandi as the Teardrop Keeper. The film's crew also includes two other LFS graduates as sound recordists: Connla Lyons and Nicola Sersale.
