London Film School 2014 Cannes Success
The London Film School is proud to announce the success of films by LFS graduates, represented in all the official sections of the upcoming Cannes Film Festival 2014.
Competing for the prestigious Palme d'Or is MR TURNER, written and directed by Mike Leigh (LFS Chairman and LFS Associate), one of eighteen films In Competition this year.
XENIA directed by Panos H. Koutras and THE SALT OF THE EARTH, co-directed by LFS graduate Juliano Ribeiro Salgado with Wim Wenders are both in Un Certain Regard.
In the Shorts Competition, recent LFS graduation film LEIDI, directed by On the London Film School's Associate success at Cannes this year, Director Ben Gibson says:
Newton Aduaka is one of fifteen directors selected for the tenth edition of the Cinéfondation Atelier co-production showcase, with his latest feature OIL ON WATER.
Finally, Aygul Bakanova is featuring as one of the director's on 
"Six LFS Associate-directed films in Official Selection at Cannes 2014, from the 1964 graduate Mike Leigh to Simón Mesa Soto from 2014, both in Competition and four others in Un Certain Regard and Cinefondation -- yes it's a dream slate, and spectacular evidence of what an extraordinary school LFS is and has been. Thousands of LFS Associates across the globe will share in the pride that their school helps to shape these careers and support these exceptional artists."
