LFS Grad film to screen at East End Film Festival

Congratulations to Manos Ioannou’s LFS Graduation Film DILIP'S CASTLE which has been selected to screen at this year’s East End Film Festival. The film will screen on 24th June at 6.30pm at the Genesis Cinema as part of the SHOOTING SHORTS programme.

DILIP'S CASTLE is the story of Sidney. He runs away from home after he finds out that his wife had an affair. Already on a destructive path, with a rapacious thirst for alcohol, he treads through the night and he discovers that what lurks in the dark is far worse than infidelity.

Two London Film School alumni will also premiere their feature films at the East End Film Festival.

Alumnus Jan Hillman‘s (MAF 172) debut feature film BITTERSUITE is premiering at the East End Film Festival.  BITTERSUITE is an intimate portrait of friendship, love triangles and home furnishings, Jan Hillman’s debut feature follows the journey of three friends across London. Transporting a couch to its new home, this new bit of furniture is a vehicle for mining themes of friendship and unspoken desire among modern urban twentysomethings, in the process exploring the Tinder generation’s approach to sex, secrets and second-hand sofas.

BITTERSUITE will be screening at Genesis on June 27th at 9.00am

Alumna  Kyla Simone Bruce's (MAF 173) debut feature film UNDOCUMENT is also premiering at the Festival, building on her grad film about immigration and refugees. It is the story of a journey across three continents, this incredibly personal drama bears witness to the complex daily dilemmas faced by illegal immigrants. Following a variety of women attempting to give their children a better future away from the hardships of their homeland, this crowdfunded film was shot in Iran, Greece and London, with much of the film taking place in the East End. The human face of a politicised issue, about people, not numbers.

UNDOCUMENT will be screening at Rich Mix on July 2nd at 8.30pm
