Listen to LFS tutor Richard Kwietniowski's Interview on the British Film Industry

LFS tutor Richard Kwietniowski has been featured as a guest on Share Radio in a segment looking at  "What graduates can expect when stepping into the British movie industry". In the interview on the show "Consuming Issues with Georgie Frost", Richard bought his expertise as someone whose work spans across industry and education, to offer insights into the current landscape of British film. Topics covered include what makes a film quintessentially British, the increasing diversity in the work being produced in the UK, and how to prepare students for life in the film industry.

After studying literature then film at University of Kent at Canterbury, Richard became Visiting Research Scholar in Film at University of California at Berkeley before returning to the UK to work in the independent film sector and higher education. Richard's work in film has won him awards from Cannes Film Festival, Berlin Film Festival, New York Film Critics Circle, US National Board of Review, and BAFTA. He teaches directing, screenwriting and acting-to-camera at a range of institutions in the UK and beyond, and has contributed to many European initiatives in feature film development. His LFS directing workshop for film students and actors has just celebrated its 200th edition.
