Current LFS Filmmaker Ka Ki Wong has accomplished an impressive feat by having her Term two film, REVOLVE (Snúningur), accepted at the Reykjavik International Film Festival (RIFF) in the Icelandic Shorts category. The director of the best short will receive a fund from the Thor Vilhjálmsson Memorial Fund and chosen films from the category will then be presented internationally by RIFF.
The three minute short follows a girl seeing herself as she revolves into her own dream in an isolated, garden-like environment. It continues Ka Ki Wong’s exploration of strange human relationships and fantasy among them.
If you’re at RIFF on the 1st or 3rd October, why not buy a ticket for the screenings of REVOLVE.
Ka Ki Wong is no stranger to RIFF, having previously screened her short film, THE STRANGER, at the Reykjavik International Film Festival. THE STRANGER, about two voyeurs who slowly form a deep relationship while still remaining strangers, was also screened at the Indian Cine Film Festival and Bangalore Film Festival in India, and the Taiwan Golden Sugarcane Film Festival in Taiwan.
The Next Stop is HAPPINESS is Ka Ki Wong’s next project, written by recent LFS screenwriting graduate Alex Pogany. To visit their Indiegogo page, click here.
