The Director / Writer Collaboration: From Script to Screen
This weekend course will guide Directors and Writers on the journey from first reading to read-through, and then to first screening. Featuring practical writing and directing exercises, attendees will learn how to develop their script and collaborate with the whole team.
Visual Storytelling: An Intro for Directors, Writers & Producers
How do you tell a story visually? In this two-day workshop, director Josh Appignanesi takes participants shot by shot into the heart of cinema with inspiring film examples, practical storyboarding exercises, and analysis of participants' own films.
The Director / Actor Collaboration: Essential Techniques for Directors
Directors on the weekend course will take part in a series of practical script-based exercises. The course will examine the director-actor relationship to the script, the character, and the shooting process. Participants will work with professional actors to give and take direction.
Writers’ Gym (online)
This online workshop is held over eight weekly sessions with screenwriter Ellis Freeman, to deliver an injection of creative energy into your writing process. A writer learns more from the experience of trying things out than from any instruction book or lecture. Here is a chance to experiment, have fun, engage your playfulness and stimulate story ideas.
