We are delighted that this week the London Film School won a prestigious award – The Short Film Award at The Race in the Media Awards 2006 - for 5th term film ‘Zohra’ (154/4/D). Congratulations to director Kemal Akhtar and all the cast and crew. The Award was given to Kemal last night (14th June) at the Award Ceremony at the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden. His Mother - Zohra - was given a standing ovation.
The Commission for Racial Equality established the awards in 1992 to encourage more informed coverage of race and diversity issues by the British media.
The judges were Floella Benjamin (author/actor/broadcaster/producer), Kevin Spacey (actor/director), Razia Iqbal (BBC Arts Correspondent), and Marcia Williams (Head of Diversity at the UK Film Council).
