Amanda Jeannette Sibanda

About

Amanda Jeannette Sibanda is a Ndebele woman and a storyteller from Zimbabwe. Her vision is to be a part of the generation of filmmakers that reshape the image and destiny of Zimbabwean cinema. She would also like to work on making black, African females visible in the storytelling world – in front of and behind the camera.

Whilst at the London Film School, Sibanda wrote and directed short films 6 and Thula – which were shown at the London Film Africa Festival in 2012 as part of their Gems from the Diaspora programme. She is graduating as a Writer/Director with Exodus – a poetry driven (and inspired) visual art piece.
