Owen Laird

About

Born in Glasgow, Owen moved to London in 2008 to study at Ravensbourne College. In 2010 he entered the LFS where he steadily shaped his own cinematic style to shooting films.

He met cinematographer Howard Atherton BSC in 2011 and soon became his apprentice, taking a break from the school for a number of terms to work with Howard on the feature film All Things To All Men. Working under Howard and having such an accomplished cinematographer as a mentor has helped Owen fine-tune his own skills in lighting and credits Howard for making him the confident and adept cinematographer he is now.

Owen returned to LFS and in 12 months shot 4 graduation films; Il Tour Di Davide, Thirteen Blue, Botsgang and his prized piece, Loyal.

At the moment Owen is prepping with director and fellow graduate Colum Eastwood on the Northern Ireland Screen funded horror The Cottage.
