Born in Beirut, Lebanon, Moussa has lived between Lebanon and England for most of his life. He attended the American University of Beirut (AUB) where he completed a Studio Arts degree before deciding he wanted to learn more about the process of filmmaking. While at Arts School, he made several videos that documented various aspects of his environment and presented the subjects only through the use of imagery and sound. These videos were usually two to three minutes in length and never featured actors or spoken dialogue. It was this form of storytelling that eventually became the basis for his graduation film, Lubnan.
Moussa has always been a fan of the post-production process, particularly editing, and continues to integrate his two other major interests, sculpture and architecture into his film work.
