About
Starring Bill Thomas (Syrup; Cutting It) and Clare Thomas (Young Dracula; The Railway Children), Islands is Sophia's third film as a writer/director, but she has also worked in the camera department and as editor on a number of other films. At the London Film School, her script Treasure came first among thirty scripts competing to be put into production.
Inspired by a background and continuing interest in documentary filmmaking, she is attracted to character-led stories that focus on the dynamics of relationships. She strongly believes in giving the cast and crew the freedom and flexibility to bring their own creativity to the table as a basis for telling stories full of truth and spontaneity.
