About
Onyinye graduated with Distinction in her MA Filmmaking Degree from the London Film School. After her graduation short film was longlisted for the 39th Student Academy Awards, she became a Berlinale Talent Campus Alumna in 2013. She has been selected for and participated in several regional and national creative development schemes that include London Calling PLUS, and Film London’s MICROWAVE 2016/2017 where her project reached the penultimate stage. During this period she won a BBC Writers Award and joined the BBC’s Continuing Drama Series workshop. In 2019 she was selected for EIFF’s first launch of its development platform “Talent Lab Connects”.
Onyinye is a shadow writer on Netflix's mythological series currently in development (KAOS) with SISTER Pictures and Charlie Covell (The End of the F***ing World), both with whom she receives mentorship towards developing her first TV project. She is also a BBC London Voices Fellow 2022, and her debut feature film screenplay has been selected for MUBI & Wscripted's "Wscripted Cannes Screenplay List Selection 2022", where she is a nominee.
