Born and raised in Taipei, Taiwan. Now based in Colombia as a visual artist / filmmaker. Before the study in London Film School, Chien Yu was a fashion designer and mainly devoted in visual experimental media projection. During the period of her study in London Film School she had participated multiple short film productions as well as a feature film produced between Taiwan and London by then she start to develop her interest in production design. Until now she continues to write and direct her own work at the same time developing her vision in art as a production designer.
