About
JAVIER CORREA was born in Valdivia, Chile in 1977. Before making films he studied History and Cultural Mediation. His first works were documentaries, focusing the attention on immigration and urban modernity, and the tensions between rural and urban realities. During his time studying for the MA in Filmmaking at LFS he collaborated with the Chilean artist Ignacio Valdes, producing and directing a video-installation about his work and participate as filmmaker in the project Bombing of Poems of Chilean Art Collective "Casagrande". Today his projects are centred on the possibilities of fiction, ethnography and visual arts in cinema. His first feature A primera hora (Early) is in preproduction.
