Gaoxiang Gong

About

Chinese filmmaker Gaoxiang Gong has always been passionate about the film industry. He has injected his own aesthetic ideas through the creation of his first short film Invalid Marriage and was awarded Best Director and Best Story at the Shanghai PRIDE Film Festival in 2017. With the dream of becoming a professional film director, Gaoxiang came to London Film School for his postgraduate degree (MA) in filmmaking. He has worked on nearly 20 short films and has made a lot of progress during his three years at LFS. Gaoxiang is very experienced in directing and mature audio- visual language. His creative works cover various genres such as science fiction, family, society and the young generation people. He also specialises in neo-realistic and futuristic films.

Gaoxiang has earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Visual Communication Arts Design at the Communication University of China.

The Marked Sheep

Zhi is ordered to stay in the bedroom when dad's colleagues visit, who work in the Family Planning Commission. He wants to say mum but gets a slap in return and continues his "exile". On his way he is drawn to a Mongolian girl and a herd of sheep with mysterious marks. What awaits him in a Mongolian yurt is an answer to his origin, under starry sky.
