About
Alexander Hagani is a born-and-bred New York City writer, director, and producer. He takes influence from Spike Lee, Noah Baumbach, and the Safdie Brothers. His films explore his fears, family members, and unique upbringing being a child of divorce through drama and comedy.
Alexander wrote, directed, and produced a full-length mini-series at the University of Massachusetts Amherst and a short in Sydney, Australia, before attending London Film School for his MA in Filmmaking. Alexander directed three more short films during his time at LFS: Private Lives (2018), Sonflower (2019), and Terry (2020). Ultimately, Alexander’s time in London was cut short by the COVID-19 pandemic.
In March of 2020, Alexander relocated back to his hometown of New York City and started writing, producing, and directing his thesis short film for LFS, Valid Glitter. A year later, in March of 2021, the film was shot on location on the Lower East Side of Manhattan. Alexander’s work has been screened at BAFTA and Academy Award-Qualifying film festivals in the US and the UK. He currently resides in Brooklyn, NY, where he has founded his own independent production company, NORTH130, out of his basement apartment in Williamsburg.
