Atika Budianti is an Indonesian writer who grew up in Singapore and the UK. She discovered her determination to work in film during her studies in Digital Media Arts at the University of Surrey. She continued to home in on her writing by enrolling in LFS’ Screenwriting MA. Her writing is inspired by the word ‘sonder’, a neologism that refers to the realisation that everyone’s lives are as complex as our own. She hopes to encourage empathy through her work by shining a light on stories deriving from individuals and places who are rarely given the chance to be heard.
