About
Yue Zhu is a writer-director, production and costume designer based in Beijing and a recent graduate of MA Filmmaking at London Film School. She started her career in the film industry after obtaining her master’s degree in Fine Arts in Fashion Design from Beijing Institute of Fashion Technology in 2017.
While working as a costume designer in China, she designed and supervised over 500 costumes in collaboration with Chinese film artists.
While working and studying as a filmmaker in the UK, she wrote-directed and developed over ten student films as a writer-director / production designer / art director / producer.

Deprived of financial support by defying her parents' career plans, Elle has to work as a baking assistant in a Victorian-themed inn to pay her way through art school, where she meets Margaret, a grumpy middle-aged woman who lives on dreams just like Elle. Despite their different backgrounds and personalities, Elle develops a strange empathy for Margaret as she tries to help Margaret realize her dream of becoming a Diva, only to discover that Margaret is most likely a ghost who has long since died. After realizing all the absurdity of her experience, Elle stopped self-doubting and became truly independent.
