Yao-wen Hsu was born in Taipei. After receiving a degree in French at the National Central University, he started to work in both film and art fields. He worked for the film school at the Taipei National University of Arts and for many film festivals in Taiwan as a subtitles assistant. He went on to study MA Film Curating at The London Film School/London Consortium. He was the festival coordinator for Taiwan Cinefest 2012. He also works in production aspect - 51 Degrees was his first project. His final project Daydream Nation invited all the daydreamers to lie down on the ground and watch films together in the posture of sleepers. He's now based in Taipei preparing to launch his new projects.
