Rupert was raised in a tiny village on the outskirts of Bath, England before moving to Shanghai to pursue a career as a journalist.

He returned to England in 2004 to study for a BA in English Literature and Language at University College London. While there he developed his passion for creative writing and film, producing several scripts, one of which was shortlisted for the Ideastap Short Fund. 

In 2010 he received a Skillset bursary to attend the London Film School. While there he wrote and directed several shorts, two of which have been screened at the Aesthetica and Manchester Film Festivals. His graduation film, Love Stuffed, is currently on the festival circuit, most recently being screened at the Hollyshorts Film Festival. 

Rupert has graduated as a writer and director and is currently developing two feature scripts whilst working as a freelance filmmaker based in London.
