Two shorts, one an LFS graduation film have garnered awards and praise at the recent East End Film Festival.
DON'T BLAME US COS WE'RE FAMOUS won Best UK Short Film. Directed by Amelia Hashemi and written by LFS graduate Jules Bishop and produced by Olivier Kaempfer (Parkville Pictures) also an LFS associate. The film tells the story of the bittersweet relationship a boy has with his dad, and the magic time when you admire you father for the hero he isn't. Paul Brannigan (THE ANGELS' SHARE) and Juliet Oldfield (BRONSON, THE KNOT) star as the two adult leads.
LFS graduation film ONE THOUSAND AND ONE TEARDROPS directed by recent LFS graduate Fateme Ahmadi was nominated for Best UK Short Film. Although the prize was clinched by DON'T BLAME US COS WE'RE FAMOUS, the animation - centred around women and the culture of Iran - was presented with the Special Jury Mention.
PARAGRAPH by Yoni Bentovim and Emily Harris also won a Special Jury Mention at the closing night of the Festival. It had been nominated for the Accession Award.
