The London Film School Appoints New Head of Studies
Gisli Snaer has been appointed as the new Head of Studies at The London Film School (LFS), and will take up the post at the end of August 2016.
Snaer is an award winning film director and a graduate of La Fémis in Paris, France, and comes to the School after heading the Puttnam School of Film, LASALLE College of the Arts in Singapore.
His films have screened at festivals in 13 countries, including Chicago (USA), Kerman (Iran) and Giffoni (Italy). And he is a Lumen Prize 2016 Longlist Artist. He has served as a Jury Member at various festivals including the Berlin International Film Festival, Kinderfilmfest, the Ale Kino Film Festival, the Singapore Creative Video Competition, and the Endeavours International Documentary Film Festival.
Snaer is a member of the European Film Academy that recognises excellence in European cinematic achievements, and the Directors Guild of Iceland. His academic research interests include The Transformative Process and Continuous Adaptation of the Novel to Screen, Ambiguity and Subtext in Visual Media, The Evolution of Story, Storymaking and Storytelling.
