About
Muriel d'Ansembourg studied Screenwriting in Amsterdam and ran a production company in The Netherlands before settling in London. She has written, directed and shot award-winning short films and documentaries. Her short film Play which she wrote and directed in her second year at LFS won 9 awards and was selected at over 30 film festivals world-wide. During her studies at the LFS she developed a strong theme in her work: powerful dramas about teens and pre-teens exploring the rawness and excitement of teenage life and all its hidden secrets. She found herself drawn to slightly edgy coming-of-age stories in which the characters have a youthful hunger to push boundaries whilst maintaining a vulnerability that brings genuine moments of intimacy. Good Night is her graduation film for which she received a distinction and has since gone on to win awards and a BAFTA Nomination (2013).
