Reem Morsi is a writer/director with a diverse career, from professional scuba diving/underwater photographer to human rights at the UN work to a career as a writer/director, her lifelong passion. She holds an MA in filmmaking LFS/UK, a Masters of Law.
Morsi’s film credits include “Their Feast” (Cannes Short Film Corner, TIFF, BBC Film Festival, Cine Sud), “The Path” (screened at various film venues) “Nostalgia” (screened at WIFT Fest/Vancouver), among others. Morsi is at the end of her Residency at the Canadian Film Centre’s (CFCP2015alumna) Directors’ Lab, in lieu of a teaser for her feature, Reem made a 3 min short based on the her feature film project, Bootleg (included in the vimeo link). Morsi also wrote and directed “The Door” produced by CFC.
Morsi's short films scripts were named finalists for Robert Bosch Film Fund (Berlin Film Festival) in 2013, 2014 and 2016. Morsi participated at the 2012 Berlinale Talent Campus and Women in the Director’s Chair Modules.
Morsi is developing her first feature film “Bootleg”, for which she received development funding at the San Francisco Film Society March 2016. Morsi also won first place for her short script “Show & Tell” at the WIFT/BravoFact pitch competition 2016.
