Born in Kashmir, Pakistan, but raised in London since the age of two, Yasser started making experimental videos, stop-motion animations and short films from the age of 15. He later qualified with a CCNA and worked as an IT engineer for a number of years before deciding to pursue his real passion for filmmaking. In 2007 Yasser graduated from Buckingham Chilterns University College with a BA in Drama and Video Production and entered the MA Filmmaking programme at LFS. Yasser prefers to make films based on social realism, pushing boundaries in an effort to put the experiences of real Britons on screen.
