About
Sonia Rodriguez-Serrano was born in Elche, Spain in 1985 and grew up in the wings of the theatres where her mother worked as a ballet instructor. This is very possibly where her love for visual art began. After having graduated from a Fine Arts degree at the Polytechnic University of Valencia in 2009, she enrolled at the LFS in January 2010 where her love for filmmaking, in particular visual storytelling and the role of the Cinematographer, have flourished. She believes the relationship between the camera and actors is central to the art of visual storytelling. Her focus as director of photography and cinematographer consolidates that belief, honing the drama via the potential atmospheres, light, camera angles and movement she is able to produce. She hopes to work within the camera department in the UK and abroad and create meaningful works within a variety of genres, tackling a wide spectrum of complicated issues through the wonderful medium of filmmaking.
