With her family already in the film industry Joanna Bence actually wanted to be a marine biologist. When she made a documentary about a platypus at age seven she dismissed it as a school project. Two years later a music video set on the moon was an interest in Space, and the trials of Mount Olympus complete with chromo key monkey press conference was an interest in Antiquity. When at 17 she wrote and directed the short film Elephant she accepted her fate and went into the film industry. In 2010 she founded Curb Denizen Productions with a fellow LFS graduate which has current projects in Russia, Australia, Ukraine, UK and Kyrgyzstan. She still wants to be a marine biologist.
