Shezah Salam is an Indian writer and director, based in London. She is a recipient of the 2021 Genera Film Fund for her graduation film ‘Bona Vacantia’ and a finalist at the Shore Scripts Competition and Big Apple Script Competition. Her first short, ‘Epiphany’, won her the runner-up best film at Dubai’s Smovies awards. Before moving into film, Shezah worked in the advertising industry as a creative at Global Media and Grey Worldwide. She loved the irreverent, wacky quality of advertising, and as a filmmaker she tries to channel that energy to tell deeper, more meaningful stories.
